Ohanaeze’s Owerri Meeting A Stage-Managed Jamboree —IPOB.

Authorities of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has described weekend’s meeting of Ohanaeze Ndigbo held in Owerri, the Imo state capital as a mere jamboree and insignificant. Gov. Rochas Okorocha IPOB alleged that the meeting convened by Governor Rochas Okorocha, was stage-managed by his political masters in Aso Rock, Abuja, for the purpose of finding a lasting solution to the agitation for Biafra by nailing the remaining IPOB members and other agitators. In a press statement issued yesterday in Onitsha, Anambra state.by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, IPOB said it wondered why stooges to those in Abuja would come out to be deceiving our people by calling them out on such an insignificant meeting to discuss their secret agenda. Powerful said IPOB worldwide under Nnamdi Kanu is worried that those elders and some governors who attended the meeting convened by Okorocha who they alleged destroyed the South-East governors forum, because of his selfish interest, would call a meeting in Owerri instead of Enugu which is the headquarters of the old Eastern region and they attended. 

IPOB recalled that Okorocha had boycotted meetings of South East Governors’ Forum in Enugu each time it was convened, yet Igbo elders, traditional rulers and some Eastern states governors who attended the meeting in Owerri could not ask questions on why the meeting should be held in Owerri, instead of Enugu.

Militants Blow Up 2 More Oil Facilities In Delta.

WARRI- SUSPECTED militants in a twin attack, Monday morning, bombed two oil installations belonging to an oil exploration company, near Batan community in Delta State. Details of the incident were sketchy at the time of this report, but locals said the explosions occurred at about 12.05 am on Monday. The double strike came as Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, debunked the claim by the Minister of Youths and Sports, Mr Solomon Dalung, that he met with the militant group at Oporoza, saying he was apparently defrauded by Niger Delta fraudsters. Meanwhile, the Niger Delta Suicides, NDS, another militant group in the region, has warned that it would devastate the economy in different forms if government refused to create a genuine platform for talks with militants. Chairman of Batan community, Dickson Ogugu, who confirmed the attack, said: “We heard a double explosion at about 12:05am between Camp 3 and Kokologbene communities.” A security officer attached to 3 Battalion, Effurun, near Warri, who also spoke to Vanguard, said a team of military personnel has been drafted in company of a surveillance team to ascertain the extent of damage. Dalung scammed Spokesman of Avengers, self-styled Brig Gen Mudoch Agbinibo, while reacting to the alleged visit of Dalung to Oporoza, yesterday, said:The Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, narrated how he mer some self-acclaimed Niger Delta Avengers in Oporoza, Gbaramatu kingdom. Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka Has, Again,Explained His Support For Biafran Agitators.

Soyinka said the Igbo people have been so wronged that they have no choice than to consider opting out of Nigeria.
Prof. Soyinka spoke on Al Jazeera, yesterday where he shed light on his support for Biafra agitators.I am very much pro- Biafra because I recognise that the Igbo have been wronged desperately.
They have been brutalised in a way that justifies their feeling that they were not part of the nation.Let me also say this, Biafrans are not entirely innocent in this affair. They were not, but the unleashing of such venom, such devastation on them as a people, was sufficient to justify their decision not to be part of the nation.I was pro-Biafran in the sense that I felt that they needed justice.”
Soyinka denied he was a troublemaker, especially in the Biafran crisis, but added, “I grew up in certain circumstances being very conscious politically, in this very Abeokuta; my mother was involved in the politics, my aunt, Mrs. Funmilayo Ransome Kuti was a leader.I grew up among political arguments on issues that concern humanity and I find that basically gravitated towards recognising the basic worth of human beings.Something I disagree when they call me a patriot because I don’t agitate on some certain entity called a nation; I agitate on humanity.He criticised the removal of History and teaching of the Biafran crisis in schools.Officials do not want to confront their own history, especially the history in the making of which they feel uncomfortable but, if you do not confront your past, you are going to mess up your future.On Boko Haram and the breakup of Nigeria, he said ironically, Boko Haram might be part of the reasons Nigeria may stay together. Soyinka said a few years ago, he would have agreed that Nigeria would break, but, now that a section of the country is in trouble, there is some kind of pulling together. He added that the conscience of many Nigerian has been awakened such that they cannot abandon that section of the country.He urged Nigerians to recognise the plurality of Nigeria, how it came together and begin to devise and adopt a method of governance which cannot only be of massive decentralisation. That way, we can stay together. If we continue to have a centralist government, then, Nigeria is on the brink.

NIGERIA: A MACABRE DANCE OF DEATH The National leadership and the entire members of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, have received with rude shock and disbelief the report of yet another religious hatred motivated gruesome murder of a dedicated 42-year-old Christian mother of seven children, Mrs. Eunice Elisha, who on Saturday 9th July, 2016, was brutally killed while doing Christian evangelism.Mrs. Eunice Elisha was murdered in Kubwa area of Abuja, FCT, in the early hours of the day. Her neck was slashed and she was also stabbed in the stomach. About a month ago in Kano, Mrs. Bridget Agbaheme, a 74 year old Christian was murdered at Wambai market due to an altercation with a Muslim man who came to the front of her shop to perform ablution. Her offence was that she objected to the Islamic washing rite in front of her shop.Just last week a clergyman of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Reverend Zakariya was killed by attackers suspected to be Fulani Herdsmen in Obi LGA of Nasarawa state. They attacked him on his farm, cut off his arms and legs, then they chopped his head with a machete. Another fresh but sad news reaching us is that of the Fulani herdsmen militia that is back on rampage killing 81 people in multiple attacks in Logo and Ukum local government areas of Benue state in central Nigeria.In recent times, there have been multiple cases of attacks by Fulani herdsmen on various Christian communities, all over the nation. In the South East and in the South South zones, there have been gruesome attacks on IPOB members and on Christian communities in the Niger Delta. All these are in addition to the relentless attacks of Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen in the Middle Belt and southern Borno.The Christian Association of Nigeria commiserates with the families affected by these mindless orgies of death and destruction as well as with the entire Christian community in Nigeria. We pray that God in His mercy shall comfort and strengthen the families of all the Nigerians affected in these unwarranted murders unleashed upon the nation by religious extremists.The recurring decimal of violence and murder of innocent Nigerian citizens on the basis of religious intolerance demands specific and relevant response from all concerned citizens in the country more so when the government in power seems to have adopted an attitude of lukewarm response to the evils being perpetrated in Nigeria in the name of religion.The discrimination against non-Muslims in Nigeria under the Buhari Administration is assuming a dangerous dimension that should not be left to the vagaries of time and circumstance to resolve.You will agree with me that with these happenings and the lukewarm attitude by the authorities concern toward putting an end to it, Nigeria is dancing a macabre dance of death, both for the nation and for its citizens. It is time to stop the beat and let common sense guide the nation out of the present quagmire.
